A Short Synopsis

Okay, so this issue has been bothering me for some time and since I have better sense than to confront the source in this particular situation. I remember from training years ago that, writing it out can have just as a profound affect as direct confrontation. So, here goes. The names of the individuals I have changed for obvious reason.

Jack and Freda have been together for about 14 years and married for about 4. Both have been married before and each has children. Freda is 10 years older than Jack.

Jack’s mother Bonnie, has spent a lot of time at their place over the last three years and as a result she and Freda have become quite close. Recently however, Bonnie has been wanting to separate herself from Freda. Bonnie is so fed up with how Freda is always complaining and criticizing Jack. he talks to Jack the way his extremely abusive father used to talk to him and for Bonnie, that is like shoving a knife in her heart. Freda’s  attitude is if it isn’t done her way then she cops an attitude. Oh and it is alright for Freda to talk bad about Bonnie’s son Jack, but if Bonnie makes any comments about Freda’s son Ken, who by the way never follows the rules and whines like a girl when he gets caught, then she gets snippy and has all the excuses in the world for Ken.

Over the last couple of years Bonnie has been there to take her to the doctor, the hospital and even emergency. She is consistently told she needs to lose weight in order to start feeling better. She is 5’5″ and weighs 330 lbs. The second she gets tired, she sits for the rest of the day. She refuses to push herself in order to help herself. Bonnie shared her personal  conclusion with me that,  Freda is not only over weight but, she is lazy as hell. Of course to hear Freda tell it, she just cannot do more than she does. It has been mentioned in conversations at gatherings of friends and family that part of her ‘oh woes me’ routine is for attention as she MUST be the center of attention in every sense of the word. The other opinion is she thinks she will find a quick fix it with medications from the doctor. She has been told that some meds that she takes will take about 4 to 6 weeks before feeling the effects. For Freda if it isn’t showing results within a few days, she tosses it.

There is a whole lot more on this situation but for now, let’s just call this a short synopsis.
