Talk about boyfriends from hell, this guy really takes the cake.
The man being held on two Class A felony charges in connection with the death of the 8-month-old son of his girlfriend told an aquaintance he had abused the child, according to the probable cause affadavit filed in Washington Circuit Court.
Leelan Crain died early Sunday morning, the result of blunt force trauma to the head, according to preliminary autospy results from the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office.
Jamie was charged with one count of battery and one count of neglect. That is absolutely INSANE. He should be charged with aggravated battery and first degree murder. If he had done this to an adult, those would have been the charges. In addition, he is serving his sentences concurrent instead of consecutively. He received 50 years for the battery charge and 40 years on the neglect charge.
According to the PC affadavit, Casey Crain, the child’s mother, said Lykins was angry that Leelan was crying Saturday evening. She told police she attempted to intervene as Lykins took Leelan into the bedroom to put him down for a nap, but he told her he would take care of it.
She said as soon as he entered the bedroom, Lykins turned the volume of the radio on high. She said she heard her baby crying continuously for 45 minutes, followed by silence.
Later, she went to check on him and found the baby severely bruised, not breathing properly and semiconscious.
Now as for mommie dearest, what caring, loving mother would allow her baby to cry for 45 minutes without at least going in and checking to see what was going on. In my opinion, she should be charged with accessory, instead she has been charged with neglect of a dependent. CASEY CRAIN ARREST
